The Word is Alive

Came across an interesting thought today. As I read through Psalm 40, I was reminded that Jesus is the Word; God's Word. Maybe even God's Law.

As I re-read this passage in that light, it entirely changed it's meaning for me.

That’s when God’s Word entered my life, became part of my very being.

Again,

That’s when Jesus entered my life, became part of my very being.

With this new idea in mind, I thought I'd read through one chapter which is all about celebrating God's Law; Psalm 119. I challenge you to do the same. Read the chapter (it's a long one) replacing the references to God's Law, decrees, commands, etc with Jesus. I think you'll find yourself as surprised as I was.

Here are a few of the verses that resonated with me.

[6] Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with Jesus.

[29] Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing Jesus.

[46] I will speak to kings about Jesus, and I will not be ashamed.

[54] Jesus has been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.

[59] I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow Jesus.

[90] Jesus extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.

Go ahead. Read through Psalm 119 like this and see what changes. Share your what resonates with you here.
