STORY11: Sean Astin

To some, he'll always be Mikey from Goonies. To others, he's Rudy or Samwise Gamgee. In a conversation at work, we decided that the response to Sean Astin taking the stage would define the coolness level of of STORY. Only a few whispers of "this is our time!" and mild chants of "Rudy Rudy Rudy". I think STORY maintains it's cool.

You always want to feel like what you're doing matters. I knew I was going to get to do something that matters, and I thanked God for it.

Artists and creatives have been huge in informing the community on justice.

The journey to get the movie made, the way we want to make it, is using everything we know about the creative process. It is the creative process.

I'm willing to fail, and do it this way, rather than compromise.

Is it possible to create something lasting and meaningful for the world without risk? Yeah, probably.

When you invest your time and energy into something, and there isn't a guaranteed return, it is a risk.

The thing itself is vulnerable.

We want to provoke young people into confidence in doing the right thing. We want to empower people to be active.

Artists thrive when they feel like they can make a difference.

My calling is to tell great stories that compel people to do good.

"Some part of that guy, is me."
